J'ai pris quelque temps de réponse, après avoir bien reçu le compte-rendu CRrom de GL5, car je préparais aussi mon rapport que je souhaite t'indiquer à présent qu'il est complet. IL s'agit d'un dossier qui rassemble trois domaines : téléphonie, télévision et Littérature Grise :

J'ai consacré ce temps à une cogitation qui aboutit à un projet, qui devrait se manifester au cours de l'été 2006. J'envisage de disposer les conditions d'un colloque qui se tiendrait au Puy-en-Velay. J'ai dernièrement arrêté son thème avec une visibilité suffisante : L'idée est celle d'identifier quel type de mémoire certaines anciennes écritures constituent - principalement en l'espèce de ces textes rassemblés au titre du Corpus Hermeticum (Hermetica). Ayant travaillé sur le sujet depuis plusieurs années, et en situation actuelle de l'associer au thème de la Littérature Grise - il me semble que les Hermetica constituent un cas exemplaire, très instructif et majeur, de Littérature Grise. Pareille identification alimenterait un discours au titre de l'Hermétisme Retrouvé" ; et fournirait une contribution de poids à la description et compréhension du rôle de la Littérature Grise dans l'histoire du Savoir.

J'aimerais connaître ton opinion et ta position vis à vis de ce projet. De mon point de vue ce thème/colloque pourrait se joindre comme une annexe au cours général des régulières conférences GL générales. Un tel module d'étude circonscrit à l'histoire se tiendrait de manière harmonieuse en la ville du Puy, qui était un important centre du Moyen-age, voire même plus ancien site archéologique. Je serais très heureux si nous pouvions joindre nos forces pour ce projet,

Thus it is time that I present to you a project which has ripened during the recent weeks, and following GL5; The starting point was a target that has been defined as summer/August 2006. I am planning to run a colloqium, in Le Puy-en-Velay. The topic of this meeting is now precise. The ideas is to identify which kind of memory certain ancient scriptures consist of, especially the body of scripture kown as the Corpus Hermeticum [CH]. Having worked with that matter for several/many years, and linking it with the present concept of Grey Litterature, it seems to me that the CH makes a very interesting case for a form of GL. Such an identification would gear the colloquium with a topic as "Hermeticism Recovered". Reciprocally, it would provide a sound contribution to the understanding and identification of GL in the history of knowledge.

I'd like to know your position with this idea and if you find interest in the project. In my opinion this symposium could append the stream of general annual or bi-annual GL conferences, in a fashion of limited module, harmonious with Le Puy itself wich was a typical and important middle-age center and even more ancient archeological site. I would be happy if we could join our forces and activities together in this project.

I am enthusiastic about William's project. Having been a student of hermetic literature for some time now, I too am struck by the ways in which the emerging concept of grey literature can help register and identify 'hermetica', and perhaps even itself find a history there. The Hermetic Corpus moves through a number of cultures, tracing a route somewhat parallel to that of a history of science: from its beginnings (already in medias res) in Graeco-Egyptian Hermopolis Magna and Alexandria, into and through the Roman Empire, from there to the middle east and the rising Islamic empire, to Byzantium and then back over to Europe at the Renaissance... always registered in a grey sort of fashion, making a researcher's bibliographic task a challenge (though the web helps greatly in this regard)...
