With the printing
and then the computing civilization phases, the Art of Memory has progressed
from an antique, (Simonidian, Athenian) age up to Psychoanalysis. Its maturation
by the Renaissance is significant.
A complex transformation
of the ancient magic is stated by G.Bruno who formulated the foundation of
the contemporary semiotics:
" Images do not
receive their names from the explanations of the things they signify, but
rather from the condition of those things
(Significand) that do the
signifying " - would write Bruno, as to be represented in the Plural
Analysis management of nature (Ecology)
So Bruno could also
write that the Order of the
Cosmos (Significand)
is in the likeness of the natural of which
it is the shadow (re:
"image"above), as it is the image of the divine, of which
it is the vestige.
We see the image
of the divine as the burried nature, reflected in a lake - the vestige
of an ancestor, the mirage of memories, that
PLural
ANalysis collects from the group which
abandons its past.
A third episode acheived the cycle of the human topics:
'Those things that do the signifying" (as Bruno said) built a Cave-like in Nature :
This Cave, then, closes itself - as with a mirror - if it has produced
a cybernetical system.
The complete Cycle of
memorization
according to the Art of Memory and Psychoanalysis
shows the result as
PLural
ANalysis
and its operation on Nature
note - for technicians :
The above explicitation of the Art of Memory into PLural ANalysis is based - amongst several other arguments - upon two illustrations by two major theoricians of this Art after the Renaissance - Vico (left) and Kirchner (right) during and after the Renaissance:
