Really ?

More than ever, today the definition of life is questionable. Ecology is an attempt to amend this awareness. To start with a comparison: The Renaissance upgraded Astrology with Astronomy - like in a mirror, at present time Science is upgrading Economy into Ecology. A definition for life Now that we have discovered the DNA coding, we can set a definition. Life is not anything, and DNA is not life. Life is an association, an attachment which links DNA & Symbolic. What is Symbolic? Symbolic is any system of symbol, signs, indications, icons, significands etc... i.e. the compound of representations. A code is not Representation - a code is a mimic, a "meme". Sometimes, a code - DNA - is attached to a representation, i.e. a system of symbols; and this is Life. Otherwise DNA is like a pebble - without a name in the emptiness of the universe, it is even no Thing. When DNA is attached to a sign, there is life - for instance, alive is an ant which lives in an environment of odor signs (and visual, and rhythmic, thermal, etc... there is profusion of signs in Symbolic). Each living entity is attached to a set of signs which is called "environment" in Symbolic. This is the definition of Life which succeeds to the Principles of Economy. Within Economy, a value is attached to things. A value can even be attached to a Code (so the DNA may be copyrighted) or even to a value (this is called surplus-value). A value is not a sign - in that that it is a series, an arithmetic succession. A letter is a sign - in that that it is a symbolic order - as an alphabet is not a succession but a set. Within Ecology, a sign is attached to Code - or reciprocally, DNA is attached to the environmental set of signs. This is Life: and within Ecology, it can take care of itself - this requires a special aptitude of life... So, now, what is Consciousness? Consciousness is this specific circumstance of Life, when DNA is attached to the Significand (amongst the various categories of symbols). The Significand deserves special studies (psychoanalysis), but it can be simply grasped - for the lay people, it is the Name. So I repeat: Consciousness is the circumstance when DNA is attached to a Name. Basically, only humans on earth are known to attempt this linking - they even attempt to give names to (their) animals - that gets them a little closer to consciousness. Yet even for themselves, it may largely remain just an attempt. Humans may have the degree of consciousness that wild animals have, if their names are not attached to their DNA - no family name, just a name for the dance, for a short time on earth; this does not bring consciousness to the human body. A good example of the attachment of DNA & naming, it the Name-of-the-father attached to the Y chromosome. There, part of the DNA has been attached to a Significand - and this has carried civilization so far. Today there is an opportunity to dramatically extend  this attachment: a complete individual DNA genome may be identified and therefore attached to a Name. My full name may be attached to my genome. Your full name may be attached to your genome. This is where Ecology gains an aware species. This is when humankind may carry consciousness to Ecology.

So.. you may find in CYBEK the proposal for guarantying a safe repository of your code for future history, where your present Will, whilst your current expression of your DNA, will be preserved as attached with it. For there is no certainty at all, that the governmental and multinational institutions, during the wandering phase of transition, would understand the ecological sanity in keeping the expressed Will during life, attached with its genome after life, along the unavoidable genetical manipulations to come Independent and private DNA groups are set, with CYBEK's help, which will be devoted for caring of our DNA through the coming social transformations and beyond.
